by

Greetings from Tech Implement!

We have seen many people struggling with some features of Microsoft dynamics CRM 2015 and many of them face issues that can be fixed with little effort. Based on the experience of our clients with dynamics CRM 2015, we have selected the top 5 issues and we hope this article will be helpful for everyone facing these problems.

1. No synchronization support:

If you are running dynamics CRM on non-cached mode, you may experience the no synchronization issue in Outlook. For example, if you have the Cached Exchange mode off when you set your Exchange email account in Outlook, you may receive an error while tracking email from Outlook search folder. Therefore, to avoid this issue you need to turn the Cached Exchange Mode on when you set up your Exchange email account in Outlook.

2. No synchronization of Service Appointments and Activities from Outlook to CRM:

If you make changes in Service Appointments and Activities in CRM, they will automatically be updated in dynamics CRM for Outlook after synchronization but changes made to Service Appointments and Activities in dynamics CRM for Outlook will not be updated in the CRM. This is not a bug but it’s the default function of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015.

3. Automatic Email tagging:

Automatic email tagging is supposed to be off by default in Microsoft dynamics CRM 2015. If you enable this setting and after that reinstall Dynamics CRM from Outlook, the automatic email tagging will be off.
You can find this setting in Microsoft Dynamics CRM diagnostic tool included with Dynamics CRM for Outlook. Go to Start > All Programs > Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 > Diagnostics > Synchronization Troubleshooting tab.

4. Different time value in date and time fields:

In Dynamics CRM for Outlook, the date/time information before 1900 won’t be displayed as you entered it while you’re viewing the records list in the reading pane in case you have system out-of-the-box or User Local or Time zone independent behavior. However the correct time and date will be displayed in the CRM web application.

5. Log files:

When you install and configure Dynamics CRM for Outlook, the log files are created in the system for troubleshooting.

The default location of the set up log files is as under:

• Windows 8 and Windows 7: SystemDrive:\Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\MSCRM\Logs
By default, the location of the configuration log files (including crm50clientconfig.log), where User is the account of the user who ran Configuration Wizard, is as follows:
• Windows 8 and Windows 7: SystemDrive:\Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\MSCRM\Logs
